When I awoke this morning I sensed something was wrong, yet I was still groggy until I got out of bed, walked into the kitchen and realized it was awfully warm in the house. Checking the thermostat I realized that the room temperature was too high, four degrees above the setting. The air conditioner was out and it was going to be the hottest day of this early spring here in Florida. It was not something I looked forward to, that's for sure.
For just a moment I began to fret, thinking the worst about getting a technician to respond quickly and what kind of repairs would be needed. Then I took a moment, took a deep breath and just said a short prayer. Like the words of 1 Peter above, I realized that it was just one of life's little problems that we go through and God will help us through our issues big and small. And then I was at peace, placed a couple of calls, and found that my technician could come be on his way in to work, identify the problem and bring whatever he might need in the way of parts back in the late afternoon on his way home. So I opened some windows while the reasonably cool morning air was still available and put my two ceiling fans on for several hours, making the house bearable for the day ahead.
So big or small, whatever your problem is don't waste the energy with stress and worry. Relax, collect your thoughts and don't end up like the poor guy in the picture. Turn your worries over to the One who can calm you and He will help you find the answer. And if you don't, even the stress of small things can become unbearable and remember, stress can surely be a silent killer. Put all things in the right perspective, use the brain that God gave you and He will take care of you. Have a great day.
