Of course, in those days mankind based most actions on the oral tradition and most people had limited if any access to books nor could they read. Consequently, the Prophet, a learned man was called upon to interpret things and propose a course of action, especially in times of hardship and war. This made his life dangerous, for when the King grew tired of hearing what was wrong, usually tied to what he had done or how he lived, banishment and or death often became the case.
Today, we often see the world amiss with much evil and hardship heaped upon so many people. Why do these things happen and what is the cause? Well, certainly lack of self-control and good principles of living are some of the causes as well as disasters and hardships beyond the ability of citizens to solve. So the question becomes: Do we today need a modern Prophet to help guide us toward a better life? Should that Prophet, relying on the wisdom of God, be available to guide our leaders in properly taking care of business? We'll pose an answer to that question and more in today's Sunday Morning Coming Down devotional which will go live at 1 pm (Eastern). In addition to the message, we'll read a passage from the Bible, enjoy some good Christian music, and close with prayer. We hope you'll join us. Here's the link to the show:
