Did Governor Brewer Miss Her Big Chance?

For this reason God gave them up to vile passions.  For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.  Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.   Romans 1:26-27

I watched carefully the situation in Arizona, waiting to see if Governor Brewer had the courage and the conviction to allow Christian business owners of devout belief to operate their business in accord with those beliefs.  It's no different than the Muslim cabbies in Minneapolis who were not punished for refusing to transport passengers with alcohol since alcohol usage and possession is against their beliefs.  But since it involved Christianity, the concern for religious freedom just got thrown out the window.

Leaders have limited opportunities in their days in office to really stand up for something special.  Oh, they make a lot of decisions that impact
others, but few offer the opportunity for a Governor to openly and honestly display courage to stand up for what is foremost for a Christian, standing for the Law of God.  Unfortunately for Governor Brewer, she blew her big opportunity.  When the chips were on the line, she caved to big money.

That Governor Brewer caved to the pressure is a shame and a sad day for both Arizona and the United States.  Christian Americans seem to be the principal religious group who are expected to violate their religious beliefs and principles to a godless government.  They and to a lesser extent their  Jewish brethren are constantly under enormous pressure to conform to norms that are abhorrent to them.  And while those trying to change society say that the Christians are intolerant it is the ones who push the envelope with their unnatural lifestyle decision who are truly intolerant.

When the LGBT community asked for tolerance, it was granted.  They then showed their gratitude by actively trying to force their lifestyle on those around them by their actions.  They don't want tolerance, they want to dictate how all of us must live and think and many political leaders and business executives easily cave to their demands regardless of the ultimate consequence.  And they have built a powerful coalition of some of these cowardly business leaders and elected officials to do their bidding.  For the NFL and other businesses such as Apple Computers and American Airlines to literally threaten Arizona is abhorrent, but what to me is even worse is to have a governor cave in fear to these demands and fail to support her own constituents.

The verses cited above from the Book of Romans tell it like it is; you can justify and qualify and cajole and threaten but none of those things will change the truth.  And while we who are devout Christians remain peaceful and love those who hate us, we will never neglect and defy those laws which our God and our Lord and Savior gave us to live by.  And God knows who is doing what and how they live and each of us will have to answer for ourselves when the day comes to meet Him before His Golden Throne.

Stand strong Christians, remain morally faithful and resolute but also remember that we are required to love those who are evil to us, even as we refuse to accept their lifestyle and behavior.  Stick to your guns and you will meet your reward.  And to you, Governor Brewer and all the other politicians who pressured her heavily to give in, all I can say is I truly feel sorry for you.  When you give up your principles based upon truth for the easy ways of this world, you have lost your way.  And when you open the doors to Christian persecution by your seemingly small step, you play a part in taking our country down a very dark path.

God bless, America and help America to return to the Way, the Truth and the Life.

gy of trheAs a Christian I have been following the situation in Arizona closely over the last few days.  The legislative bill which was approved by both houses of the state legislature and referred to Governor Jan Brewer was designed to protect the religious rights of Christian businesspersons who have devout beliefs opposing gay marriage. It was given a bad rap  by the non-believing press and by some large businesses who always see money first, not what is right in a moral sense. and what is right second.

I use the term what is
right not to be discriminatory but to state a fact about the Law of God as clearly spelled out in the Holy Bible.  The fact is that Christians are taught that sexual actions between people of the same gender is a sin just as sex outside of marriage between heterosexuals is also a sin.  Sin is something that Christians are supposed to both avoid and       Whether one agrees or regarding the legislative bill which was submitted to the Governor for signature protecting the rights of Christian business people to not violate their devout Christian beliefs.  To me it seemed like a simple matter.  After all, we have had cases in other states where Muslim cab drivers have been allowed to reject passengers with liquor since their religion condemns alcohol and this is just one of many examples of like decisions.s have been allowed to reject
