Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Come in today, come in to stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus.
Whenever I hear this hymn, my mind wanders back to my days as a young boy. I sometimes didn't want to go to my Sunday school class and my dad would give in and let me go with him to the men's bible class. I remember watching him, a man who was not outwardly very religious but had a strong belief in God in his heart. Something about this hymn struck home with him because I would see a small tear in his eye when he sang these lyrics. It was a special moment and I remember it well because, you see, it wasn't long after that when he died suddenly. It is one of the fondest memories I still have of him all these years later.
The words ring so true today. All Jesus asks of us is to let Him into our hearts. When we open our hearts to Him and take Him as our Lord and Savior, He stays with us forever and we with Him. His glorious gift of eternal life is given to us merely for following Him, believing in Him and living our life accordingly. There is nothing greater and nothing more powerful, not all the riches or power available in this world. Nothing can compare with accepting His invitation. Won't you do it today?
Dear Lord, Thank you for sending Thy son our Savior Jesus Christ to give us sinners the chance for eternal life. Help us to open our eyes, our minds and especially our hearts to Him so that we might experience true and perfect love through His grace forever. We need Thee, Oh Lord, and a permanent communion with Thee will destroy all sin, all fear, all pain and all suffering henceforth. Once we are "Born Again" we will truly spring alive. Infect each of us with the Holy Spirit that will guide us to Thee. We ask in His name, Amen.
Have a wonderful Sunday of communion with the Lord and rest with your loved ones and choose to live your life the only way that is truly satisfying and joyful: Choose Jesus for Life.
