Many Americans today, myself included, find ourselves dismayed how things can turn so ugly and so fast in our own country. The Land of the Free appears well on its way to be the land of the slaves, although perhaps we are already there if we really look at it. What has happened has been the loss of the practice of living faith in God, the loss of good citizenship and camaraderie and a nation divided down the middle, one representing the traditions of America and the other thinking it necessary to turn this nation into an oppressive and overpowering state. But how did it happen and even more so, how did we let it happen? That is what we will be discussing in my blog over the next number of days and we are going to focus on four items, although there are certainly more, but these few I think are at the heart of the problem, them being the proper raising of our children; the capture of the focus of our political parties by special interests as opposed to service to the citizens; the deleterious and destructive action, or inaction, by the courts; and the false reporting and mind control activities of the mainstream media and social media as well as the biased social media platforms who think they know best what should be reported as news while silencing the voices of their opposition. All have in common the lack of God being at center stage of presence, and that lack of His guidance is the primary cause of how all four areas of concern came about to begin with. Today we'll focus on a very general discussion of the broad composite of issues with the importance of quality teaching of our children as a critical beginning. If children are raised properly and learn about the overwhelming part that God plays in life, most of these issues would easily be conquered. And when I say that I am not just talking about what they learn in the classroom but what they learn from their parents, places of worship and from all of their activities, for the combination of all of these things, when properly managed by parents with loving concern will go a long way to making our nation a God-fearing nation with good education and faith and morals instruction.
Let's start with parental oversight and involvement. How many of you know of, or maybe have even found yourself guilty of, being so tired at the end of the day that you take no time to discuss their school day and happenings, plus review the quality and the content of their instruction? It's a big problem today and we see the evidence everywhere. Delinquency, bad manners, failure to follow instructions and rule are so much more prevalent today than in times past. One way to bring the focus into view is to schedule time during family dinner where each child is asked to speak of his or her day and what they have going on. Conversation over dinner needs to be a family tradition just like it was in the good old days and it actually was appreciated by the whole family and made the bonds of family stronger. Something we can all work on.
Next, let's look at the education system which truly is not for educating, but today it is for indoctrinating young mind minds into the belief structure of the left. This has been going on since the 1960's, only then it was subtle. Today it is in our face, quality subjects being replaced by social engineering with tradition thrown out the window and history and civics, or American government if you will, get very little attention except from new liberal infested educational materials which have turned things over so that we don't even recognize them anymore. Check out your children's text books and materials and you are likely not going to recognize America anymore. And then we wonder why our kids come home indoctrinated to oppose what we believe. Furthermore, those social engineering materials twist science and so much more in a knot so that when our children graduate they wonder why gaining employment is so limited. Get involved and get down to the school and demand answers, for otherwise when and if the kids go off to college they will be aliens by the time they come home for a holiday.
And what about the tenets of God, faith and wholesome American tradition of good citizenship and morality? Well, these come from God through worship, prayer and the Holy Book and the Holy Spirit which in so many ways is scorned these days and the children cower away from them. So, with God totally removed from the schools, it's time for parents as well as churches to reach the children while they are still young enough not to have firmly formed viewpoints with which they often think they have all the answers of life. Sadly, as all of us found out over time, they do not have the answer for only God can give them the discernment to really distinguish the truth in all things.
Turning away from God is at the heart of all the problems we face and if we open our heart to the truth and his grace, we will be able to successfully deal with all of our issues. But if we refuse, well, we have everything to lose and we'll have no one to blame but ourselves. So, remember, these four issues: the proper raising of our children; the failure of our politicians to focus on the needs of citizens instead of devoting themselves to special interests; the destructive actions of the courts instead of following the law as driven by the Constitution; and the corrupt and evil actions of the mainstream media and the social media giants. Each of these issues builds on the lack of foundation that our children were given, for when children grow up without that, they turn into adults who focus on all the wrong things that give us the problems and the vicious circle continues generation after generation. And that is where we find ourselves today. So, we will start on this journey with special blogs on each one, commencing with the raising of children on Monday. In the meantime, look for a short Sunday Morning Coming Down blog tomorrow.
