Not long ago she disgraced herself publicly when she questioned Mike Pompeo, former Kansas Congressman and a top graduate of West Point before active service, during his confirmation hearing for Director of the CIA. She asked him if he thought that Climate Change was the biggest threat to our security and Pompeo replied that it wasn't in the purview of his duties, there were other government agencies designed to deal with that issue. She then went on a tirade while he just looked at her as if she was insane.
Then just a few days ago she asked former Marine General John Kelly, Secretary of Homeland Security, questions about the Homeland Security processes and as he finished his first sentence, which was obviously heading in a direction she didn't like, she cut him off. When he asked if she would let him finish his statement, she informed him she was asking the questions to which this fine man said he'd like to answer the question. It went downhill from there as she disgraced herself and insulted a great American leader who has his own son buried at Arlington. Harris has never faced any such situation and it is clear from her demeanor that she sees herself superior to everyone else.
Finally yesterday, not to be outdone by her previous foolhardiness, she dressed down Admiral Mike Rogers, the Director of the NSA when he answered a question about being pressured by the Trump Administration with an emphatic negative. As she drove on harder, his response was classic, "I stand by my previous answer." It got so bad that Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina, the soft spoken Republican committee chairman finally told her to cease the badgering and treat the Admiral with respect. It took a moment for that to sink in on Harris before ultimately relenting.
I remember many years ago when I was in college in Arizona when students would welcome students from the Land of Fruit and Nuts, referring to the large number of California students back then. The only difference was that back then they weren't in the majority. After all, it was after that time that Ronald Reagan became Governor and served two full terms. But with the continued influx of illegal immigrants with minimal work skills and socially engineered education and the glorification of the Hollywood set, that has changed. Oh, the rich in Hollywood and Silicon Valley are still on board, but many of the small and prosperous businesses, the ones that were owned and operated by hard working average Americans, are disappearing as they move East to a better life and lower tax situation. And sadly, they are being replaced by the welfare and food stamp set, eager to vote for anyone who will give them more benefits for doing nothing. Politicians like Brown and Harris just love that, oh yes they do. It gets them elected and the results clearly show.
So I expect Kamala Harris to continue in her ways, entrenching herself in a political organization which has lost its way and getting worse. I expect her to be a rising star in the future of the current Democratic Party, a younger Elizabeth Warren albeit without the Pocahontas mantra. What a shame that the formerly highly productive and beautiful state of California is turning out leaders of such poor quality. The Golden State is losing its luster as it becomes, for so many, third world.
