Today is the day to rise up and "Just say no" by voting for Republicans all over the country. While some of them aren't as Conservative as many of us would like, all of them will be a vast improvement over what we have seen. Furthermore, if Mitch McConnell becomes Senate Majority, he can break the logjam that was Harry Reid in that position. "Dingy" Harry currently has over 350 House-passed bills stacked on his desk, refusing to allow the Senate to consider them.
Now I know many are skeptical of the leadership of the Republican Party and I am in agreement with that position. However, we've got to get Reid out of that chair before anything can be done. So hold your nose if you want but vote Republican, and then if you want to really get a picture of what happened tomorrow night try something different. Instead of Fox which is really getting more moderate by the day, try the internet and conservativereview.com. This site will really show you what is going on from a pure Conservative perspective and it will be running with live data tomorrow night.
Then we come to Wednesday with what should be a new Republican majority in the Senate to go with perhaps an even larger majority in the House. Say congratulations and then turn your attention to what the pols plan to do in the lame duck session. Many rumors abound that McConnell will quickly stab us in the back, and if it is seen that he will, get on the horn and let them have it. I for one plan to schedule a weekly phone call to all of my Congressional representatives in both houses and tell them how I feel. If we all do something similar, just imagine the impact. It worked against amnesty and it will work again; it just takes paying attention to the facts and acting accordingly. The Conservative Review website cited earlier is a great source for everything we need.
Folks, the Founders wanted us to be involved actively. It is our job to keep our elected officials honest and responsive to what we, the people want. And while the Democrats would never listen to us, the Republicans, if constantly pressured to do the right thing, will respond appropriately. Are we up to the challenge? I'm betting that we are.
Have an interesting Election Day and stay focused. God bless.
