And actually once I faced the reality of the situation I was aware that I was right where I was supposed to be. As a father, husband and businessman, my job, the job that was assigned to me and which was most important for me to accomplish, was to try and raise my children to be good and kind Christian men and women when they were grown by being a good father and husband. My duty was to help them find their own way, a route that should be godly, honorable and true and to use the gifts that they were given to the best of their ability.
Once these positive thoughts entered my head, I was comforted thinking about the Sunday morning past and all of the bright faces who had been in my Sunday school class. I enjoyed teaching the children for two reasons: first, I wanted to do something to make them all realize what was important about life and, second, my children couldn't complain about being required to go to Sunday school if their father was there with them. And the more they attended the more they appreciated the message of God's abundant love. Over time the experience grew on all of us and it helped to prepare us for the more mundane things in life, like that gray Monday syndrome when the weekend was over and we all had to return to work and school.
Now older, with my children grown and raising their own children, I am happy to know that those times were spent well with them. They both have a love for their Lord and Savior and they are striving to instill that same spirit in their children. And it makes me realize that I was right about our most important purpose in life and it made me hope that more will do they same with their children and grandchildren. Make no mistake about it, we need God in our lives as much today as ever. We can only get America back on the course that she was christened with if all of us do our part to instill His goodness and His hope for mankind in all Americans. Getting on the road to righteousness is the key to making sure that we remain free and without Him we are truly lost.
God bless you and God bless America.
