It's Saturday: "Forget Your Troubles, Come On Get Happy"

That little kitty sure has the right idea because it's Saturday morning, that special day when we get to change our pace just a bit. Many of us get to sleep in, take a little more time lounging and get that extra cup of joe before going out for "Saturday morning confusion".

For some of us it's grocery shopping, for others it's getting a haircut or visiting the beauty parlor and, of course, there is always that little visit to the hardware store to pick up all those odds and ends for those nagging little chores that Saturday always brings.

But there is something just nice about having a less regimented schedule and, if you're like me, there's always the anticipation of a Saturday afternoon with family and friends where you can forget work, the world's crises, if only for a few hours, and just have some fun.

And now that football season is about to crank up, those wonderful Fall Saturday afternoons will be filled with cheers and/or groans as we watch our favorite teams in action.  It's just nice to have the weekend for the short time it is with us and we surely need to unwind.

So turn off the news channel, put the work you brought home away for awhile and enjoy this day.  If you don't like football you can take a walk, ride a bike, go to the beach or lake, or visit a museum or take in a movie.  It really doesn't matter what you do as long as you get a chance to relax.  Just like you need to recharge your spiritual batteries tomorrow morning, Saturday morning is just a great time to ease your mind and laugh and play.

So here's to Saturday, the day we wait for all week and once again it's here.  We'll get back to the serious stuff bright and early Monday.  Believe me, it will be here soon enough.

Obama's No Strategy Strategy

Yesterday the President went before the cameras and the press at the White House to briefly discuss his plan to deal with ISIS and the growing war in the Ukraine due to invasion by Russian troops.  He looked anything but confident and resolute as he announced that the Administration has no strategy yet to deal with the growing ISIS threat not just to the Middle East but the world.  And he also announced that the United States would just sit on the sidelines with regard to the Ukraine conflict.

Never before has a President of the United States shown such weakness and lack of concern as the world continues to go up in smoke.  It is becoming clear that it really is true that his interest is with the golf course, not the affairs of state.  He is willing to use a phone and a pen to violate the Constitution and step on his citizens but is unwilling to project American military power when it is so sorely needed.

It is obvious that the man in the tan suit has no idea what to do.  And being a former military officer myself, I am sure it is not because he hasn't been presented options.  I am sure the Pentagon has been burning the midnight oil drawing up plans and options yet the President doesn't seem to be able to take the time to deal with problems that have the potential to destroy the country.

I keep thinking that someone in Washington will really speak up and challenge this man without a plan but it seems now that our other leaders really aren't leaders either.  They are just allowing themselves to be captive of political correctness even though that is not what the average American seeks. What a sad state of affairs we have and it doesn't look like it is going to improve anytime soon.

Meanwhile, on the illegal immigration front, it was learned today that some of the so-called children overloading our public our schools are not children at all.  School officials aren't even allowed to ask their age and it is being reported that some of the males, likely to be in their mid-thirties, show signs of gray hair.  And this begs an important question.   Do we want our young children and grandchildren, particularly our teenage girls, being placed in classrooms with foreign men who come from countries where girls as young as fourteen are fair game?   The answer is pretty obvious isn't it?  And I really wonder what the Administration really wants to accomplish from this.  It's a frightening thought.

Folks, in addition to the unwillingness to use our power and might for national security, political correctness
and the goal of diversity at all costs and under all conditions is destroying us.  God help America.

So President Obama says that Burger King is unpatriotic.  One of America's best known burger places has decided to move its corporate headquarters to Canada as part of its purchase agreement with Tim Hortons, a popular doughnut and coffee shop in Canada.  Word has it that Hortons has some of the best coffee in the world.

Now the Left is apoplectic with the President leading the charge.  I find it laughable for a man who has no clue about what patriotism is, clearly from his demeanor and actions, to criticize a successful company for trying to improve its bottom line.

Burger King has thousands of American franchise units that will continue to operate as they have in the past.  They will pay local, state and federal taxes and continue to employ thousands.  The only change is the location and tax situation for the corporate headquarters.  And if Mr. Obama wanted to be patriotic, he would do something to lower the U.S. corporate tax rate, the highest in the Western world.  Hey, Mr. Obama, why don't you get on the Fair Tax train?  We'd be awash in money.

By relocating the corporate entity, Burger King can reduce its corporate federal tax from 40% to 26% instantaneously.  What's wrong with that?  After all, the rest of the world realizes that more revenue comes from lower taxes while the United States still lives in the old tax and spend world that is taking us down the tubes.  We tax more, business leaves and yet we just keep printing worthless greenbacks.

And there's another little tidbit about this that the media doesn't want you to know.  Guess who is masterminding the deal by providing the cash to make it happen?  Why none other than Warren Buffett, Mr. Obama's good buddy and tax manipulator who always says he wants to pay more taxes yet always avoids them. Hey, Warren, there's an option on your tax form which allows you to send a check for whatever you want to the feds in addition to the taxes paid.  I would urge you to use that option and leave the rest of us alone.

And to Burger King I say: "Have it your way".  Now let's go have a Whopper with fries.  A little bit of extra cholesterol every now and then won't hurt you.
If only we could have a little common sense in Washington.

Another Bombshell Provided by Judicial Watch?

PictureTom Fitton of Judicial Watch
This past Friday, Tom Fitton, head of the Washington watchdog group, Judicial Watch, appeared on Fox News with Shannon Bream.  When discussing the IRS scandal, he made a statement about the corruption and untruthfulness of the tax agency which makes its actions even more despicable.  Fitton stated that Judicial Watch had learned from an IRS attorney that the back-ups for Lois Lerner's emails were in fact never destroyed.  The back-ups were maintained as are all government emails but the attorney said it would be too difficult to find them.

Really?  Not only were all of Commissioner John Koskinen's statements about loss or destruction lies, but now we are being told it is too difficult to retrieve them.  I suppose they expect us to believe they are retained in something similar to an old paper system in gigantic unlabeled warehouse file cabinets where no one knows what is what.  Koskinen should be recalled immediately before Congress and again be grilled on this; as agency head he surely must know what was really going on or else he is just totally derelict.

Come on, America, they are likely in the Cloud, probably on a system like I-Drive where with the push of a button they can be easily retrieved.  And we know why they don't want them found.  It's because they know that if they're made public maybe even one of the spineless RINOs will demand that heads roll.  That's exactly what needs to happen.

I trust Tom Fitton explicitly.  He has done great work with his staff in rooting out corruption and lies by the bucketful and I am sure that he will have his sleuths digging into this with golden shovels, for when these emails finally do come out they will leave nothing for the liberals to hide.  While Obama and his minions think that with the passage of time the IRS scandal will just totally fade into the sunset, and it has to some degree already, the truth will put it back on the front burner on high.

The only other person I would trust to dig into this story is the great Mark Levin and I'm sure his ears are perking up as well.  As another great bird dog attorney who is fearless, I expect we'll be hearing him on this subject as well.  What we Americans need to do is encourage these patriots to keep at it with the strength of public opinion behind them.  The cancer that is the operating strategy of the current Administration must be surgically removed and all those playing active roles on its behalf must be purged.

Let's get America back and, because it is such an opportunity, let's push hard for the FAIR TAX.  It will take lots of work but it would destroy the IRS, make taxes simple and require that every American and even our visitors pay part of the bill to keep her free.  And, more importantly, it will put the power of the purse back in our control, no

God bless America and may she ever be free, guided by His love and common sense.  Have a great day.

Carson-Jackson on Fox News Sunday: Complete Opposites

Picture
Sunday morning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, Rev. Jessie Jackson debated Dr. Ben Carson on the subject of violence by African-American youth and whether it was a response to racism.  The two differed greatly in both viewpoint and demeanor, Carson presented his case with a soft-spoken calmness while Jackson appeared angry and ruffled most of the time.  In my view, just a look at his facial expression during the discussion makes it quite obvious where his heart lies.

Jackson presented the standard argument he always uses.  The police are biased and corrupt, the "gentle giant", all 292 pounds and 6'4" was unarmed, had done nothing wrong and was the victim of out-of-control police.  He didn't want to talk about the new information which was coming out to contradict the early press reports, he just wanted to make sure that Michael Brown got "justice".  And, of course, in his view it was clearly a case of racism with a white officer killing a black young man in the prime of his life. In fact, he went so far as to call the death a "state execution".

Dr. Carson was thoughtful and and measured.  He acknowledged that it's always a tragedy when a young man dies, but he said racism had little if anything to do with it.  In his view, as long as so many young men are raised without acknowledging that they have personal responsibility for their actions and lack a clear sense of right and wrong they will always have such problems.  Throw in the use of illegal drugs and alcohol and the situation just magnifies itself.

As a man who grew up in a single parent family and was poor, Dr. Carson should know
what living without many wants can be like, but he was also blessed to be raised by a hard working Christian mother who instilled in him focus and decency.  And that is just the point he was trying to make, the parents of young men who are "roaming the streets" have a responsibility to instill their offspring with good values.  If they develop a strong moral self and are taught to respect others and learn and grow spiritually and mentally, then they will be equipped to meet life's challenges as productive citizens, not with violence and bad behavior.

Jackson even got into a bit of a tussle with the host, Chris Wallace, when he said that white officers are clearly biased against black youth when they see them on the streets.  When Wallace pointed out that 91% of violence against African-Americans
is committed by African-Americans, Jackson just avoided the issue.  And I think that is what he has done with his entire life of activism.  For you see, Jackson could have truly been a wonderful resource for developing peace and good citizenship instead of fomenting more anger with his rhetoric.  After all, his home city of Chicago is a war zone with dozens of African-Americans killing and maiming each other monthly on the streets while Jackson is off complaining about injustice and violence elsewhere.  He seems unconcerned about the death of young blacks in the case of black on black cases.  Nowhere is crime worse and death so prevalent among blacks than right back home, Jessie.

I pray that the violence can be stopped and that people will be able to calmly have the real discussion that they need.  And I also pray that the family of Michael Brown can find peace and that the young officer, Darren Wilson, can find fair treatment in a society that preys on sensationalism and is so quick to jump to conclusion on the basis of sound bites and short video clips. For it's not the cowardice that Eric Holder says we Americans have that is the problem, it's the unwillingness to break the shackles of political correctness and face
the truth.

Come on, America, we can do better than this.  Let's open our hearts to find the real truth and we will find the solution.  With open hearts we can give the Holy Spirit a chance to bring God back into our lives and solve this and every other problem.  Only then can we face and eliminate the violence and I think that was part of Dr. Carson's point.  Let's give it a try before we destroy ourselves.

Your Future Can Be Assured If........

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
-From the hymn Blessed Assurance, words by Fanny Crosby
      Music by Phoebe Knapp, 1873

In a modern world so full of pain and suffering and with many turning from goodness and light and instead focusing on greed and self-centered gratifications, it is easy to get discouraged.  But we Christians know that with the gift of free will often comes evil when bad choices are made.  So finding this beautiful hymn as a selection for our service at church yesterday brightened me greatly.

No matter how bad things might actually be or seem, we can be assured that our future will be a glorious one if only we seek out our Lord and Savior.  He has the power to turn our life around as nothing else can for He offers us the gift of salvation.  All we have to do is ask Him for forgiveness and put our lives in His hands and we can be assured that our future will be blessed beyond imagination.

Now he doesn't promise us that life on this earth will then become easy, actually He promises quite the opposite.  But remember suffering brings perseverance and perseverance brings character and God and His Son desire us to have the character that He possesses even though we are just mortal, not a God.
So what does He promise us?

He promises us His love and devotion and the strength that it takes to live life for Him and in Him.  And if we openly and honestly do this, he promises us life everlasting, seated with God the Father and Jesus His son and with the Holy Spirit infecting our heart with love and warmth for eternity.

What could be more assuring than that?  The answer is that there is absolutely nothing else that could do that.  But remember, the offer is there for the taking only as long as we make the commitment before we die an earthly life.  Doesn't it make sense to make the commitment while we can?  It's a choice for each of us and one which each of us must make on our own.  There is no "group think" on this one although there are those who can encourage and help us find the right answer.  But ultimately, it comes from our individual hearts.

God awaits eagerly.  He is always ready for a new member of his faithful flock.  Don't delay, follow Him today.  A wiser decision cannot be made.  God bless you all.

Sunday Dawn Brings Renewed Hope

But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

We had a pretty heavy thunderstorm last night.  It rained in torrents and the lightning strikes were quite frequent and the thunder loud.  All of my house dogs huddled around me, not wanting to be alone.  And I am so thankful that I put a surge protector on my power box; I am sure that it saved us from some unneeded expenses during the storm and the power reset on multiple occasions.

And now, on Sunday morning, it is rather gray and dreary, not as beautiful as most early mornings here when we have a glorious sunrise.  But there is sun in my heart because Sunday is a wonderful day of renewal and of community fellowship in praise of our Lord and what His Son our Savior has done for us.  Sometimes our hope falters a bit during the week and even though I pray and try to read the scripture regularly, I just need that extra boost of hope that Sunday morning worship brings.

As I enter our little country church so quaint and pretty in a very simple way, I see the lighted picture of Jesus and His gaze into my eyes from its placement above and behind the pulpit.  It always brings a tear to my eye because it makes me think of that day so many years ago when
He died in such a horrible way for a sinner like me.  His willingness to give the ultimate sacrifice for all of my faults never fails to amaze me and give me the strength to stand for Him.  May I always maintain that strength no matter what I may face in my remaining days on this earth.

We Christians are truly blessed and it is incumbent on us to always stay true, to fight the dark angel who is always waiting to enter if we let him.  We must fight with all the power of the Holy Spirit within us and do all we can to live as God wishes.  We will make mistakes, but we must always work doubly hard to eliminate our weaknesses and frailties for the love of God in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is always available to lead us down the path to righteousness.  Put Jesus first in your life and all else will take care of itself and it will be an eternal care in the presence of He who made us.  What greater love and gift can there be?

Dear Lord,  Thank you for Sunday morning and the opportunity to gather together in fellowship with you.  Help us to use the hope and strength that comes from our Sunday spiritual nourishment to go forth and face the cold world with all of its issues and problems and to successfully do our part to further your Kingdom.   We know that with you we are everything and will live forever; without you we are nothing and we will die when our life on this earth is done. The wonder of that promise to us provides everything that we need as long as we believe.  We ask humbly that you guide us accordingly.  In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Chuck Hagel: Obama's Useful Tool

8/22/2014

PictureCourtesy flickr.com
Poor Chuck Hagel.  A man of clearly limited intellect and lacking in public speaking ability,  he was picked by Barack Obama to replace the capable Robert Gates when he left the Pentagon.

While many had issues with Gates on some issues, there was never a question about his having the aptitude and the experience to handle the job effectively, even if under the thumb of Barack Obama.  Gates decided to leave when he realized that his ability to act as necessary was not what Obama wanted.

So in steps Hagel, a man with limited military background and experience (he did serve a hitch as an Army sergeant) with a well noted penchant for wanting the military to be smaller and less involved in world affairs.  It is also worth noting that his Senate career exhibited no clear guiding passion, he merely opted as often as not to operate against his party's position on many issues, particularly conservative ones.  He was kind of like a John McCain without the anger and personal desire to be in front of the cameras.

When Obama selected him as Secretary of Defense, it was obvious that he was appointed merely so that Obama could claim more bipartisanship in his Administration.  This was despite Hagel's marginal Republicanism at best and his largely unknown stature to those outside of Nebraska.

He immediately set out to do the President's bidding.  He went to work attacking religious freedom of military personnel, interjecting social experiments and pushing the gay issue on to the front burner, making cutbacks in the budget and, ultimately, retiring many of the most qualified senior officers as well as eliminating seasoned mid-level leaders who held the most experience in the ranks.  He never spoke up to defend the services when Obama started his overly ambitious draw downs overseas and now has a much smaller, much less equipped and combat ready force where morale has plummeted.  Social issues seem to be the primary concern, not combat preparation and readiness.

As a result, America's standing has been seriously impaired and we are becoming a laughingstock on the international stage.  No one counts on America or trusts her anymore and as a result of the vacuum created largely by Hagel and his boss, evil has grown in the form on ISIS and other Al Qaeda related groups worldwide.  Since Obama's announcement that Islamic terrorism has been neutralized, thousands of Shia Muslim, Christian and other religious men, women and children who don't subscribe to their evil code have been murdered, raped and tortured.

Barbaric use of such methods as beheading and crucifixion have become their order of the day. This was predicted earlier  by many experts opposed to our complete departure from the region and it has come to pass.  Meanwhile, Obama has only given it momentary mention in between golf rounds while Hagel has been hiding in his Pentagon office.

So yesterday, the Secretary decided to speak up.  And he makes the brilliant announcement that America had better get ready, that ISIS is a much bigger threat than ever thought.  He further stated that it is well armed and growing, and that it has the capability right now to harm America much more severely than the 9/11 attacks.

Really, Mr Hagel?  As a principal player in formulating or at least initiating the degradation of America's military, you have the audacity to say we now must get ready? Are you and your boss going to undo the damage by loss of qualified manpower and elimination of materials needed to engage the enemy effectively?

It's probably a safe bet to say that both Hagel and Obama were both beside themselves seeing Matt Drudge make it the headline story late last night.  As usual, Matt Drudge has the capacity to really get to the heart of the matter with his brilliant conciseness.  His readers know immediately just where the story is headed and it drives the Administration crazy.

But there's even more that came out on Thursday which probably also ruined their day.  Remember when Obama traded five senior Islamic terrorists for one Army deserter,
Bowe Bergdahl?  Also remember how Senator John Cornyn seriously objected because Bergdahl's release was illegal by the Pentagon but Hagel said he had the authority?

Well, it turns out that the Government Accountability Office released its findings stating that the Pentagon had broken the law on two counts.  First, they were required to give the Congress thirty days' notice which they didn't and, second, there was no appropriation funding approved to pay for the release action.  Will both Hagel and the President see any blowback from this or will it just be water over the dam like so many other illegal actions taken?

A recommendation is order for Mr. Hagel, one which has been universally proven correct and is needed now more than ever.  It is this: quit the social engineering and the political correctness nonsense with the military and just let them do what they do best: kill people and destroy things.  For when American leads and we complete our military tasks completely and efficiently, threats quickly disappear and peace returns.

When the leadership shows weakness and indecisiveness, as Obama routinely does, the end result is always disaster.  It is much longer lasting and more deadly than using overpowering and lethal force to combat evil at the outset.  Had we not done so back in World War II, we would probably be speaking German with a touch of Japanese in parts of the country.

We are faced with an enemy more bloodthirsty and ruthless than ever before.  They only understand one thing: overpowering force.  So both Obama and Hagel need to either make decisive and wise choices or get out of the way; it's as simple as that.

May God add his guidance and blessings to our cause.  If we don't start to act and do so decisively, we may not be able to in the future.  Come on America, it's time to roll.

Whatcha' Gonna' Do When the Well Runs Dry?

8/21/2014

Picture
Here in North Florida we are beginning to run into significant problems with water.  Oh, we have plenty of it on the ground during a heavy rainy season and some nuisance flooding, but that's not the issue.  No, I'm talking about drinking water and most of the state is now categorized as either being low on long term supply or in some cases dry.  And the plans for the future, some already approved and others up for consideration will make things significantly worse.

Our state has a population today of nearly twenty million people and the high population is already putting significant pressure on supply.  A number of residential rural wells have failed and it's particularly noticed in periods of drought which have been significant in recent years.  But this is only the tip of the iceberg.

Based upon planning documentation for counties and cities in the state and the determination of areas already zoned and approved for population growth, Florida has a build out level five times its current population, or approximately 100 million.  So if water is becoming short today, how will Florida be able to handle such a need in the years to come?  The answer is clearly that she can't.

While the politicians and the developers work together to put more and more into less and less, they conveniently leave out the truth about the bleak future of water.  After all, what do politicians generally do.  They approve things without thinking them through and then, when the crisis comes, they demand huge tax increases or put in place stringent usage controls when it's too late.  Lastly, they retire and have a fancy government building named after them.

And of course there are many other issues than water.  Infrastructure issues, such as police, fire, sewer, schools, roads and transportation all require few outlays of dollars and the development project never covers those things.  It is estimated by TischlerBise, formerly Tischler and Associates of Maryland, that for every one dollar of revenue brought in from development the cost is between #1.39 and $2.45, a losing proposition all the way around.   So the good old taxpayer is once again asked to foot the bill for something that often he never asked for, in fact, often he opposed.

Additionally, the growth projection for Florida cited early was based as of 2010 and it does not include other projects being considered and, unless wiser heads prevail, likely to be approved.   Here in my home county of Alachua we are dealing right now with a proposal to add over 10,500 new homes to a rural area that is a watershed for our aquifer.  In this same area the landowner, Plum Creek Timber, is also asking for approval for up 15 million square feet of retail, industrial and office space.  These requests are offered as amendments to the land use plan in effect; the owning company wants an exception to the land use provisions in effect when they bought the land.  These provisions are also enforced upon all residents, so any change would be specifically for the large landholder, Plum Creek.

The land in question is remote with limited infrastructure and was extremely cheap when they bought it.  Being a timber company, they have used it as a tree farm until now when they want to rezone it to increase its marketable value, entitlement, and sell it to the highest bidder.  Despite their claims of creating jobs and developing a wonderful mixed use community, they are neither a builder, developer or job creator.  In fact, they are a real estate investment trust.

I site this particular case not just because it is local and impacts me, but it is being watched very closely by developers throughout the state, eager to get their hands on the last bit of "Real Florida" and turn it into another Miami, Orlando or Jacksonville.   One of the great attractions that bring tourists to Florida aside from the beach are the beautiful clear springs and massive new developments and industrial sites in these fragile interior areas will deplete the water to the point where it will be reduced to a trickle.
It's like adding insult to injury
and at some point Mother Nature is going to put her foot down and say "that's it, you're done".

And just yesterday it was reported that Osceola County (in the burgeoning Orlando area) is toying with the idea of another huge city, the size yet to be determined.  Somehow the politicians think that more and more won't lead to less and less, but in reality it always does.   More people, more crowding, more taxes, more pollution, more traffic and less water, a lower quality of life, less disposable income, higher crime, and all the other adverse things that come with urban sprawl.

So in this gubernatorial election year, I would ask the following question of both Governor Scott and his opponent, former Governor Crist.  Whatcha' gonna' do when the well runs dry?  For as sure as the sun comes up and the rooster crows, we're going to be facing a crisis of life threatening proportions much sooner than any of you want to admit.  And the lure of economic development without fully taking into account its cost is foolhardy at best.  You can have all the skyscrapers, resorts, golf courses, and six lane highways you want, but when the water is gone it will become a ghost town.  When that happens each politician who knowingly collaborated with landowners, developers and others pushing for the last ounce of water under our land will each be complicit in our demise.

And I would also ask the same questions of the City Council members, the County Commissioners and other governing bodies who support the Governor's plans with their zoning actions.  How long will you keep approving projects in the name of economic progress which ultimately become a pipe dream?  For you are also accountable for your actions and their adverse impacts on local residents, especially the never ending tax spiral.

This isn't limited to Florida, folks, it's happening all over the country.  In the name of property rights the unscrupulous are destroying our land and resources at an alarming rate.  They "do their thing", take the money and run and the folks unfortunate enough to live in the area under siege are the ones who get hurt.

Property rights were never intended to be used against the rights of our neighbors, but when someone causes others to be deprived of water or the environment that they had every reason to expect to remain in accordance with known ordinances, the line has been obliterated.  And it is up to those who we have elected to honor their commitments to all the citizens, not just those with deep pockets and special connections.

I only hope that all American will wake up before it is too late, for once the land it gone, it's gone for good.  And somehow I think that when God looks down at the earth below, I don't think he had in mind endless strip centers and lush golf courses with water fountains where others have trouble even getting their tap to function.  God bless America.

On Friday, August 15,  Travis County District Attorney Marjorie Lehmberg received grand jury approval to indict Texas Governor on two felony counts: abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant.  Yesterday, Perry had his mug shot taken and, as you can see from the picture posted here, he doesn't seem too concerned.

This all started with Lehmberg's conviction for drunken driving when she was stopped recording a blood-alcohol level of nearly three times the legal limit.  A video has also surfaced from the arrest showing her make a complete fool of herself at the jail.  She represented just about everything you wouldn't want to see from an elected officer of the court.

Later he learned that she was head of the anti-corruption unit with a two year budget of $7.5 million awaiting his signature after approval by the Texas legislature.  He decided that it wasn't appropriate to have a person with a drunken driving conviction leading the effort and suggested that she resign.  She refused in defiance and he then decided to veto the budget bill.

As far as the first charge, the Governor has every right to seek to have a person of strong moral and personal authority in a position such as Lehmberg occupies.  His comments that he didn't think this person was appropriate for the position is clearly within his purview.

On the second charge, if he was guilty of coercion, she would not still be sitting in office.  He made his position known but he violated no statutes and she was not removed for office.  If she had any shame, she would have voluntarily resigned the position, allowing a person of better temperament and character to fill the important legal position.

This is nothing but more Democratic politics, using any idea and approach to try and bring down those with whom they disagree.  They hate Perry because he has been a resounding success as Governor and Texas leads the way to American prosperity in most measurement categories.  Oh, Perry has his faults, we all do.  But to try and use the law in such a callous manner is worse than contemptible.  Texas Democrats and the supporting action group which has received some funding from George Soros should close their playbooks and just fade into the sunset.

Perry will weather the storm effectively and it will probably be a significant plus should he truly desire to be President.  Americans are fed up with this stuff, and they are particularly fed up with the biased main stream media, so this will quickly backfire.

So I'll #StandwithRickPerry and wish him well in future endeavors.   I guess the Dems will have to learn the hard way: Don't mess with Texas, especially when you are a Texan yourself.
