Obama Disgraces Us on Middle East Issues

1/31/2015

PictureThe Levant includes Israel
Obama has repeatedly mistreated our primary ally in the Middle East, Israel, and it has reached the boiling point.  He has displayed bad manners and rudeness never before witnessed by Americans toward the leader of the Jewish state or any sovereign state for that matter, but it has now morphed into hidden efforts to undermine Israel's sovereignty and her security.  All Americans need to be aware of this and speak out and, if you happen to be a Jew or Christian, your religion demands that you stand up for God's chosen people.

Let's look at just a few of the example that indicate how Obama really feels about Israel and her courageous Prime Minister, Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu.  Oh, there are many more examples but for the sake of brevity I just want to offer a few which make it clear where Obama and his administration stands relative to our best and strongest ally in the turbulent Middle East.

Use of the term ISIL instead of ISIS when referring to the scourge of terror known as the Islamic State which occupies a large land mass in Syria and Iraq.  ISIS stands for the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria while ISIL is short for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.  Take a look at the map above and you will see that ISIL includes Israel.  Obama, by using the term ISIL, is hinting that he acknowledges that Israel is not a sovereign state but, rather, just a component of the land claimed by a terrorist organization.

Lack of respect for the Prime Minister.  The clearest example was several years back when the Prime Minister, in Washington on business matters, made a courtesy call on the President in the White House.  The President left him waiting for two hours while he had dinner with his family then had him ushered out the back door.  It kind of reminds me of one of the stories Obama would tell about his brethren back in the desegregated America days; talk about a slight and one not likely to be forgotten and done by a man who should clearly no better.  There has never been a President with less class.

Sending signals to the enemies of Israel that America is not serious about supporting the Jewish state.  Obama continually sends aid to the Palestinians, dollars that are meant to be used for building schools and hospitals but instead are used for tunnels to help terrorists sneak into Israel.  And what do you think a New Yorker would say if a foreign power tried to tell them what they could or couldn't build in New York and where?  That is what Obama and his State Department minions continually try to accomplish with regard to Jerusalem, the real center of the Jewish world as well as our Christian faith, the City of God.

Condemning Israel on the public stage and holding Israel responsible for the Middle East conflict.  Every time that Hamas or Hezbollah starts firing away with their human shield-protected missiles, when Israel responds Obama and his UN "buddies" always blame Israel and demand that Israel unilaterally cease fire.  Imagine if missiles were coming into your town and the government said you weren't allowed to defend yourself. Outrageous.

Ignoring the real danger which is ISIS and Iran.  While Obama rails about Israel's supposed horrific actions, he has sent representatives to work with Iran, which in Obama lingo really means give them anything they want.  And, of course, we've all seen the administration refuse to call extreme radical Islamic terror just what it is, with the result weakening our standing as a world power.  Frankly, the rest of the world sees Obama as the ninety-seven pound weakling in the old Charles Atlas ads.

Finally, Obama is actively working to defeat Netanyahu in his reelection this March.  He has sent a group of some fifteen political operatives to work with the opposition party in Israel and he is using federal tax dollars to do it with.  Thank goodness that Senator Ted Cruz has raised the question but, as we all know, the main stream media will probably try to hide it on page thirty-eight.  But the question is, why would a President spend American tax dollars on a cause that he knows is wrong and that his people oppose?  I think we all know the answer.

Friends, we only have a few allies in the Middle East with Israel being the strongest and the most willing to fight her own fights.  Egypt, under General el-Sisi has stepped up to the plate regarding Islamic terror and there is now a fatwah out for his head.  And the Jordanians, as small and weak as their country is, have stated courageously that they will not cave to death threats.

But here's the real deal.  Israel is and always has been the key to peace in the region.  Without a democratic Israel supported by America as we've always previously done, the future will make the Arab Spring look like a Sunday school picnic.  Bibi Netanyahu, a former highly decorated soldier, knows what must be done and I'm glad to know that his voters are starting to rise up.  You see, Israel is a democracy and the  Left exists there just as it does here, always trying to eliminate the truth and the power needed to keep it alive.

We Americans need to tell the Obama Administration to quit meddling in Israel affairs and put a full court press in support of the Jewish State into force.  And hopefully, when Bibi Netanyahu gives his speech to the joint session of Congress in March, the pressure will build and Obama will finally face reality and relent.

Stand with Bibi against Islamic tyranny. Remember, if the Mullahs are ever successful in destroying Israel, they are then coming for us, who they call the "Big Satan".  Join me in standing for Israel, the land of both Abraham and Jesus Christ.  Pray for peace with strength in the Promised Land. God bless.

The United States Senate: It's Time for New Blood

PictureThe Senate in session
I've been paying close attention to the Senate confirmation hearings for Loretta Lynch, Obama's nominee to replace Eric Holder as Attorney General, seeking to see if this lady prosecutor would really answer questions being posed about her qualifications and views.  I really didn't expect anything new and, sadly, I wasn't surprised by her lack of candor.  She was coached to be polite and appear to be answering questions posed while actually saying nothing at all.

Oh, it's not that men like Jeff Sessions of Alabama, Mike Lee of Utah and Ted Cruz of Texas didn't try.  And if you listened carefully to her responses to a number of pointed questions I think it was clear where her heart lies.  But she does come across with a much milder delivery than the arrogant General Holder and for so many of the Establishment Republicans who are on the committee, they seemed to be satisfied with her non-responsive answers.

But at the point where the rubber meets the road, she would not stand against the usurpation of law by her soon-to-be-boss, because it's clear to anyone who is honest that the President is required to enforce the laws of the land and if he wants them changed he must work with the Congress to do that.  Congress has to pass a bill to make any changes to law, the President merely signs or vetoes it.  He is not authorized to make law himself.  So when the Senate confirms a nominee who will not support and defend the Constitution despite taking an oath to do just that, the Senators in question have also violated their oath of office. It's really just as simple as that.

And this brings me to the main point of this commentary as indicated by the headline.  We need new blood in the Senate, men and women who will honor their oath, not assume that because of their seniority and long term standing they have the right to follow a different standard.  And no better example can be found than in one of the longest standing member of the Senate, the man who is the tenth longest sitting Senator in the Senate's history, Orrin Hatch of Utah.

Senator Hatch has been in the Senate since January 3, 1977, now in his seventh term with over thirty-eight years of continuous service.  I don't know about you, but I don't think the Founders ever thought we citizens would surrender to single individuals holding office for life.  And because of this, the Senators become fixtures, losing touch with their constituents and becoming more enmeshed in currying favor with their colleagues.  That this is the case with Senator Hatch, who this afternoon announced that he was pleased to support the nomination of Loretta Lynch, the Constitution and with it the separation of powers be damned.

Here's just a short snippet from his press release: "Ms. Lynch has demonstrated her qualifications and made specific commitments to work with Congress. I plan to support her nomination......".  It seems that Senator Hatch has an exceeding short memory, for time and time again we've seen that working with Congress by this administration is code for meaning yes, as long as Congress comes around to their way of thinking.  And I think Senator Hatch knows better, but I think he'd rather please his buddies on the other side of the aisle and the rest of the RINO Establishment than do the right thing.

It gives me no pleasure to say these things, but I've watch the good Senator morph his views over the years, only really talking as a conservative when he is up for reelection.  And now that the RINOs have announced that they want to try and end the promising Senator career of the Utah junior Senator, Mike Lee, a true conservative, watch for the hypocrisy when he refuses to go to bat and stand up for Lee.

Wake up, America, and make your voting decisions on what they do, not what they say they will do.  If you do that, we'll have a steady turnover with new good talent, for power over time sadly corrupts everyone.  Let's stop the madness.  God bless you all and God bless America.

Has Obama Put A Gag Order On The Army?

Two days ago the word was put out on two widely divergent networks, Fox News and NBC, that Private Bowe Bergdahl would be charged with desertion and appear before a military court martial.  Retired Lieutenant Colonel Tony Shaffer, appearing on Fox, reported that the Army will proceed with the charges and that Bergdahl's attorney had been given a copy of the charge sheet.

At the time I cheered but I also thought it was too good to be true.  I just figured that the White House would put undue pressure on the Pentagon brass and that they would, as they so often have under this President, meekly relent.  After all, rumors are surfacing widely that the reason Benghazi is not resolved is the fact that the man with the most knowledge, General David Petraeus, is likely being blackmailed by pending charges against him. Why would the government recommend pressing charges against Petraeus when the IRS can violate everyone's rights and the President can just ignore the law of the land and everyone looks the other way?  Because they are no longer seeking justice or fair play and they are repeatedly doing things like that.  So with that approach to governance  why would they not use threats of imprisonment or loss of retirement for any officer who disagrees with their actions?  And remember, the THEY goes directly to the White House and likely to Barack Obama.

Well, yesterday it became evident that they want the truth deferred about Bergdahl as two Pentagon spokesmen, both military officers, Major General Ron Lewis and Navy Rear Admiral John Kirby announced that no final decision or referral of charges has yet taken place.  As a result, Bill O'Reilly questioned  LtCol (Ret) Shaffer again, telling him that the Pentagon had called him a liar.  Shaffer stuck to his guns, stating that the decision has been made but admitting that the Pentagon had been under relentless pressure to back off by the White House.  Ben Rhodes, a White House staffer who has no shame in what he does to protect the President, has been identified as the point man for Obama.

So the question becomes this: Are there any patriots left in the Pentagon and is anyone willing to put his country and its future ahead of their own personal comfort?  Are there any Patrick Henry types today in government?  For with what is going on today, I think that one good credible source coming forward would open the proverbial Pandora's Box and the trickle of truth that is coming out would turn into a torrent.

We have a President who has released five horrible Islamic terrorist leaders with huge volumes of blood on their hands for one likely traitor whose father was treated like royalty at the White House.  The elder Bergdahl practically pledged allegiance to our enemies with comments in their own language.

And this brings me to another example, quite the opposite, which shows the destructive actions which are being taken to dismantle and degrade our military forces.  For while Bergdahl gets good treatment and Obama tries to cover for him, young Army Lieutenant Lance Lorance, a man who bravely fought in Afghanistan and did all he could to protect his men from evil from all directions is languishing in Leavenworth.  Lieutenant Lorance had the misfortune of using military force in self defense of his men in an Army that has put political correctness first and concern for our soldiers second.

I hope that all who are reading this will think very closely about these things that have taken place.  They don't make sense, they put our soldiers in a no win position and they present to us a situation which brings to mind a great line from an old classic: "Something is rotten in the State of Denmark".  Only in this case we are talking about the United States of America.

I only hope and indeed I pray for common sense, honor, and truth to return to the leadership of our country and our military for America is today on very shaky ground.  Our former friends are more often than not treated badly and our enemies are given free reign to do what they want to do.  Let's pray for the truth to come out and for true justice to be given to Lieutenant Lorance and with God's help we can somehow end this scourge on America.

Sadly, as a former Army officer myself, I must conclude that it's just not MY Army anymore.

Will Americans Go On A CRUZ in 2016?

Picture
Yesterday I began a short series of articles about three men, each of which has the potential to lead the nation out of the Progressive morass we Americans find ourselves in today.  My first article dealt with Scott Walker, clearly a high quality and principled man who has the talents we need, but I also said I would follow with discussion of the other quality men.  So today, I turn my attention to United States Senator Ted Cruz of the Great State of Texas, a man who is articulate, passionate, and outspoken Conservative, and a cool cookie in the heat of political battle.

No one is better suited to take on the Democrats in terms of temperament than Ted Cruz.  Despite all of the main stream media attempts to paint him as an extremist, Cruz has as good a grasp of constitutional governance as anyone in Washington.  Yes, he's passionate about his beliefs, but when he talks or debates the subject, he is always calm, polite and right on point.  The reason the Left gets so upset is that he is effective.  Ted is building a huge group of followers and his words just inspire more and more to work to take America back.

Ted was a champion debater at Harvard and I don't think there is anyone in America who can beat him in a debate.  Just imagine if he were running against Hillary Clinton and they had a lively debate.  Hillary would be screeching and demanding while Cruz would hold his ground, always being polite, often smiling, yet never giving an inch.  Frankly, I think it would be a great day for America if that happened.

Prior to coming to Washington Ted was Solicitor, or chief lawyer, for the State of Texas. And one special example of his dedication to the law was when he even took on his former boss, former Governor George W. Bush, then the current President, by besting his legal team before the Supreme Court in a case involving a death penalty case involving an illegal immigrant.  He is gutsy, consistent and truly loves the law and his country.

So I add Ted Cruz to my short list of favorites for a Presidential run.  And there's one thing for sure about this fine man and the others on my short list: they won't ever be accused of being RINO.  Folks, unless we get rid of the large number of RINOs having too much influence in the Party, Republicans will lose another Presidential election.  We don't want that, do we?

Let's get ready and insure that a rock solid Conservative leads the way.  God bless America and God bless you all.

Scott Walker Comes Alive With Gusto

1/28/2015

Picture
My most recent post in the Conservative Report (conservativereport.org) talks about the large election victory gained by the Republicans last November and how, astonishingly, they are already in retreat.  The good old RINOs, never allowing victory to survive the deceit of defeat, have taken the voters for a bad ride and they are now angry.  Conservatism is on the verge of riding to the rescue and I have identified three special politicians, men who are both smart and principled, to potentially lead them to the White House under the Republican banner in 2016.  These three offer the first glimpse of candidates with potential for conservative success since Ronald Reagan.

The three men: Senator Ted Cruz from Texas, Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, while they by no means complete the list of good quality candidates, do represent the best of Conservative thought and principles, each with his own special impact.   If Conservative Republicans are to defeat the RINOs and the likes of Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie in the primary, they must find a way to jell behind a single candidate before the primaries and these three men each are prime candidates.

I want to say a few words about each so for the sake of brevity, I will do one a day for the next three days. I'm going to start with Walker, a man who has fought hard against a rabid opposition and won despite unbelievable odds.  He has turned a blue state purple and has offered hope and an improved life to millions of Wisconsin in the four years since he was elected Governor.  Now beginning his second term, his star is rising rapidly based upon his determination and accomplishment.

Walker is one of the few politicians to have run for office on a platform that would be difficult in any state, but especially so for a Republican running for Governor in a blue state.  But Walker was used to such challenges.  After all, he came to the governorship from a successful stint as County Executive of Milwaukee County, one of the bluest of the blue in Badgerland.  His secret: taking his ideas to the voters, explaining them clearly and pointing out the advantage and benefits they offered.  In Milwaukee County, he took a struggling county and made it work, balancing the budget and avoiding tax increases for a population that really couldn't afford any more government.

As Governor in his first term he did the same.  Walker took on the unions, literally breaking apart the power of the public sector organizations by giving workers a choice of whether or not they wanted to be members.  When workers opted out and found out how much more money they had in their pockets without any adverse consequences to their work conditions, they were ecstatic and union membership dove.

He made logical cuts to state spending and saved so much money that Wisconsin's serious budget deficits that he inherited from the outgoing Democratic administration ended in a comfortable surplus.  Business started picking up, jobs became available and growth resulted.  The voters realized that their Governor was a man they could trust to do things right.

In accomplishing these things, Walker still had to fight tooth and nail with liberal politicians, lobbyists and street thugs who went out of their way to make his life miserable.  On one occasion they even delivered a threat to the life of his wife, stating that they "wanted to gut her like a pig".  He survived a special recall election with plenty of room to spare during his first term and then turned around and gained a second term by a comfortable margin as well.

The unions threw everything they had at him and lost, and their financials were drained accordingly.  And now the good Governor likely wants to show the nation that he can do for Washington the same types of things that he did for Madison.  Speaking before this past weekend's conservative extravaganza in nearby Iowa, he made it clear that he would push for economic freedom and opportunity in any endeavor he should seek such as the White House.

Governor Walker also proved something else while in Iowa.  Many supposed experts thought that despite his great record of achievement, he lacked the vim and vigor of excitement on the stump and he clearly proved them wrong.  If he markets himself properly and can gain the funds necessary to really compete, Scott Walker has the potential to by a very credible candidate, one who can excite Republican conservatives and independents seeking cost effective and sound governance.  Even the RINOs can't deny that his record is one to be envied.

So we'll see what happens over time, but one thing is for sure.  Comparing a man like Scott Walker to the likely Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, clearly will put major pressure on the Democrats. Stale old liberal rhetoric versus fresh, energetic and competent Conservatism is not a comparison that, in this writer's humble opinion, will be a winner for the Democrats.

Let the fun and games begin.

Let Freedom Ring: We've Got Work to Do

1/26/2015

Picture
I will be short and sweet this morning: "Let freedom ring."

It's a famous refrain. Politicians and leaders use it in speeches. One of the most famous uses of it in my lifetime was in the remarks made by Martin Luther King in his "I Have A Dream" speech in Washington in August 1963.

It's a very succinct statement and very clear in it's meaning. The ringing of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia so many years ago was a bold statement of freedom made by a new nation bravely fighting long odds against the British.  A visit to the site is awe inspiring and along with its symbolic statement it should make all Americans proud to be part of a free nation.

But something has happened to us over the years. We've become soft and selfish, expecting things to happen without any hard work or sacrifice.  We've stopped paying attention to what our political officials do and instead we've forfeited our own judgment to them, assuming they will do what is right and best for us.  And we are unfortunately just now learning the error of our ways and the large cost of being lazy.

So are we going to cry in our beer or get busy?  That's the question and as for me, I say we all must rise up, unite as a proud member of the greatest society ever created on earth, and stand up against the chains of tyranny that are rapidly closing in.  Pay attention to civic events and what is going on in D.C., join forces with others around you who are also appalled and just say NO to tyranny.  Recruit those around you and give them information.  We outnumber them greatly and the force of freedom is strong whenever it is pushed by people of God. So get God in your heart and decide today that you will be silent no more.  Let's do what we must to keep America free.  She is worth it and any sacrifice required.

Will you sacrifice now or find yourself in bondage later?  What's it gonna' be?  It's crunch time. Let's get to work.

Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

PictureJesus feeding the 5000
Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little."
                                  - John 6:7 (NKJV)

Seeing the huge multitude of followers approaching on the mountain, Jesus knew they would be hungry.  It was the time of the Passover when Jews honored the Law and made the pilgrimage to Jerusalem which was still some distance away.  They were coming to see Jesus because they had hear of His miracles and wanted to see for themselves who this man was.  Jesus also knew what he would need to do to satiate their hunger but He tested Philip, which drew the response quoted above.

Philip exemplified a good follower of the Master, trying to please Him and do as he was asked but Philip, being a mere mortal, knew in the earthly sense that the small treasury that the Disciples had amongst them was paltry and insufficient to provide what Jesus asked.

Jesus decided to us this moment as a perfect opportunity to show another of the signs of being the Son of God, for he took the few fish and loaves of bread available from a young one in the crowd and turned it into a feast for the entire flock of five thousand.  The Gospel of John discusses seven miracles designed to reveal Christ's nature and mission, the feeding of the five thousand was the fourth.

Jesus' miracles, coupled with His amazing grasp of things far beyond the most learned rabbi brought wonder to many but consternation to many of the religious class.  They just couldn't believe that God would bring  His Son to man, as the Jews were expecting, in the form of a simple living man who was the son of a carpenter.  They were looking for a king, after all, the High Priests of the Temple certainly wouldn't expect that God wanted them to humble themselves in front of a man not of royalty.  And remember, Nazareth was considered a backwater town of no significance.  Caiaphas, the High Priest, even said years later at Jesus trial before His crucifixion that "nothing important ever came out of Galilee."

So Jesus used the miracle of the Feeding of the Five Thousand to show that while man has a need for food for the physical self, he also has a dire need for spiritual food.  That spiritual food would feed him in nourishing his belief and the attainment of everlasting life.

It was a similar message regarding water that he had given earlier to the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well. Spiritual water, like the spiritual food, nourished the spiritual self toward Everlasting Life when life on earth was done.  Since food and water are critical to maintaining life, using these examples provide lasting meaning for His message to His believers concerning Heavenly Life.

Have you received the spiritual food that you need?  Are you nourished in your soul so that you are fully committed  to Jesus as your Lord and Savior?  That's what He wants from each of us and if we make that commitment, we are promised life forever in a place that is so glorious and beautiful that we mortals can't even appreciate it in our wildest dreams.  And there is only one way to find it and live it: through Jesus Christ.

Lord, We thank you for the Gospels and the stories of our Lord and His teachings and His works during his short period on this earth.  Help us to take His message to heart, to keep it open to Him and His goodness and to live our life in a way that will be pleasing to Him.  Bless and keep us on the road to Glory that will take us to your house when our work and trials on this earth are done.  We ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who gave His life in sacrifice that we might be afforded the opportunity to live with you forever.  Amen.

"Deflategate": Does the NFL Suffer from Low T?

1/25/2015

Picture
I remember as a boy watching the rough and tumble of the NFL up close and personal.  I was fortunate to attend a number of games and the violence was astounding and the protection was minimal.  But the same was true to a much lesser degree even in high school ball and while no one wants to see injuries, you can't play a rough contact game without the bad coming with the good.

Today, the NFL had been wimpified to the degree that it is hardly recognizable.  Quarterbacks are given such an advantage by the rules that stopping a passing game by a good team is almost impossible.  The old rock em and sock em game brought people out in all types of weather to rough it against the elements.  Today, unless there are corporate club seats and sky boxes the game would be out of existence.  But the common man, the inspiration for the "tough guy" attitude that made football so great has been pushed aside.

But even worse, when the money got so big that the game was really only the sideline aspect of the endeavor, much of its honor went with it as well.  Let's face it, folks, there is no honor in football anymore.  Players who are treated like kings lose respect for everyone and everything, including their own wives and cheating is common place.  I have no doubt that what happened with the deflated balls of the Patriots is common place.  It's just that no one wants to do anything about it because of the money value.

So I think that part of the Low T problem in the game is lack of living up to the responsibilities of manhood and personal responsibility, maybe it's time to deal harshly with the outcome.  Instead of making the rules so wimpy that we can't even see a good "rumble" anymore regarding tackling and hard hits, how about dealing hard with honesty.  If you are going to hammer away at a player like Ray Rice, who now has his wife at his side and supporting him, why not also deal hard with cheating on the rules.  If you are caught, you are caught and you need to pay the price.

Now don't worry, I'm not one who believes the Patriots should be disqualified, after all the Colts couldn't have beaten them under any circumstances on Sunday.   So let them play in the Super Bowl and I expect them to win.  Having said that, however, make the punishment meaningful to the team.  Football teams and stars are looked up to by our youth.  If teams are allowed to cheat and flagrantly violate the rules, then just another justification for doing what feels good instead of what's right has been given.

So why not give the guilty party a huge fine, say a million dollars, the forfeiture of several first round draft picks, and the benching of the starting quarterback for the first two or three games of the next season.  It will at least make them think about the ramifications of what they do before they do it again.  And warn them that a repeat offense will be doubly tough.

And then, let them play ball. Traditional tough ball, for the players know the dangers and chances of the game and they make the choice to play.  They also are handsomely rewarded for the risk they take.  They know it's a violent game played by huge men who often come from very tough backgrounds.  And if you don't like it, don't play or don't watch and tell the pretty boys at ESPN to go back to something the know better in a different media: pushing liberalism.

Sorry if that was brutally honest, but I always loved the game of football and I don't watch it any longer. The ads are now better than the game.  Bring back real football, just realize it is what it was meant to be. Nothing more and nothing less and its sorely missed.  We can't legislate every aspect of life and insure that no one gets hurt while maintaining the game in any semblance of its earlier glory. Let's bring it back.

Bobby Jindal "Gets It" On Radical Islamic Terrorism

1/23/2015

Picture
Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana is one of the brightest young leaders of the Conservative Movement in the Republican Party today.  He is astute, has done an excellent job of cleaning of Louisiana politics and is one of the most knowledgeable politicians regarding the folly of Obamacare in America today.  But over the last week, the Governor has taken on another subject that most American politicos have been afraid to broach: the the threat of radical Islamic terrorism to America today.

He recently was a speaker before the Henry Jackson Society meeting in London and he took on the subject.  For those of you who either don't know or can't remember who Henry Jackson he was a Democratic Senator in our past who was a firm believer in the defense of America.  He was not a Democrat by today's standards.

In his remarks Governor Jindal made it clear that he expects Muslims of peace and good will to step up to the plate and confront those amongst them who preach hate and treachery.  He went so far to say that unless this behavior is removed from their midst that Islam can't even be considered a religion, but rather a group of murderous thugs trying to destroy decent society.

It was a very well delivered speech and it took courage and resolve.  After all, he was in London and Britain is one of those lands that has gone out of its way to avoid facing the reality of the situation in their midst. But Jindal, an Indian-American who is a practicing Catholic, challenged those who say they practice a religion of peace to live up to their claim.  He made it clear that should things not change, those remaining silent will be judged to be complicit in the slaughter.

Could the good Governor have either listened to or read the recent speech given by Egyptian President Abdel Fatah el-Sisi in Cairo where he provided similar remarks to a large gathering of Muslim clerics?  It certainly sounded like it and perhaps his remarks will serve as a lightning rod to embolden Republicans to face the truth in a deadly world.  Who knows, it could even change some of the dynamics of the Presidential race in the Republican Party since Jindal is young, accomplished, a man who could devise a good solution to Obamacare while devoting additional attention to the threat we face.  Events have a way of changing things quickly.

Whether or not Bobby Jindal has Presidential aspirations, he is in a good position.  Only in his early 40s, he could continue to build his reputation for accomplishment for another decade before taking such a step, he could offer himself as the man to clean up Obamacare, or he could be a major campaigner for the Conservative Cause in lieu of throwing his "hat in the ring" this year.

Whatever he does, Governor Jindal by showing courage and honesty on a very serious and deadly manner has done something that America needs.  He's broken the chains of political correctness and gone for the truth instead.  As a devout practicing Christian he knows that only the truth will set us free.

So whether we are Louisianans, Floridians, New Yorkers or even Californians, thank you. Governor, for saying something that needed to be said.  God bless you and God bless America.

My Faves for 2016 (As of Today): Think Conservative

1/22/2015

PictureThe Eagle has landed: He's Conservative
It's still a long time until the November 2016 Presidential election, but now is the time to start seriously getting things together if you are a candidate.  It takes money, organization and a solid game plan to enter the grind and those who are well prepared are those who come out ahead.

Today all we hear from the Republican Establishment is more of the same drivel that has cost the party the Presidency in the last two cycles. Okay, so maybe Obama would have won under any circumstances in 2008 with the novelty of a new face who presented himself as an energetic opportunity to make history.  But remember, only two months prior to the election McCain was leading in the polls until he went back to Washington to strongly endorse the bailout of the banks that did nothing to help America.  I really think had he taken a populist approach we would have been better off as none of the money spent did anything for America the nation, just the banking class.

In 2012 everyone was thinking that Romney was a shoe-in but he had a big problem which also brought him to defeat.  While a good and honest many, his political core was soft.  He failed to articulate the conservative message that Americans longed for after the implementation of Obamacare.  And remember, Romney played a large part in making Obamacare acceptable with his Massachusetts healthcare experiment while he was governor.  But the icing on the cake was when he let Candy Crowley control the message on Benghazi and he quickly backed off when he should have shamed her for showing clear bias in her role that was supposedly that of a non-partisan moderator.  I really think he lost the election right then and there.

Fast forward to today and we find ourselves being besieged by the political class telling us that Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney or maybe even Chris Christie make up the best crop of candidates if Republicans want to win.  None of them are conservative, all three favor moderation in areas where courage is needed and, frankly, I don't think the base or the independents leaning to the right will elect any of the three.  And they kid themselves if they think that flooding America with illegal immigrants and giving them citizenship will help their cause.  It will enrage the base while the newcomers, doing so legally or illegally, will vote for the Democrats and more "free stuff", one of the key reasons they are crossing the border in the first place.

Here are the three good Conservatives that I lean toward right now.  I am putting them in no particular order; they each have special qualities that should be very attractive with the base.  Keep in mind, the RINOs will work overtime to kill them off on behalf of the chosen trio and their most vile efforts would be directed at the first candidate on my list.

+ Ted Cruz.  Ted Cruz is intelligent, conservative and a great speaker.  He also has a great legal mind and is devoted to the Constitution and his country.  As Solicitor for the State of Texas (State Legal Officer), Cruz took on his former boss, former Texas Governor and sitting President at the time, George W. Bush in a case before the Supreme Court and won the case for Texas.

If Cruz can gather the necessary funds he will be a force to be reckoned with.  Despite the Left trying to make him seem an extremist, he is merely a Constitutional Conservative and a cool customer, always staying calm and cool under any conditions.  The Democrats can't stand that about him and it would be a marvelous talent to have in a heated debate.  If you listen, he always comes across reasonable and polite, preferring to let the opposition show their true colors in a fit of rage.

+ Scott Walker.  The Governor of Wisconsin, just starting his second term, has perhaps the most impressive record of running on a platform and then delivering the goods after being elected.  The unions threw everything they had at him after he broke their controls over much of the state and he beat them not once, but three times.  Wisconsin is now running a surplus after being in the red and is showing how Conservatism is the answer to liberal hogwash.  If a candidate doing what he says is important to you, and it should be, Walker deserve serious consideration.

+ Bobby Jindal.  The Governor of Louisiana, serving in his second term, has done a great job of cleaning up his state government and it's political corruption while bringing the land of the bayou into the world of very attractive places to live.  Jindal is also an expert on health care, having served as an Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services in the Bush Administration.  He knows what needs to be done when it comes to repealing Obamacare and replacing it with a patient-doctor centered private sector program.

One last thing needs to be mentioned about Jindal, something which has just come to light.  He recently gave a "spot on" speech about radical Islamic terrorism to the Henry Jackson Society in London calling for Muslims the world over to stand up and speak against the scourge.  A devout Roman Catholic, Jindal sees the threat to Christianity and other groups from these radical murderers and is not afraid to call it like it is. Wouldn't it be nice if other politicians in America showed the same courage and candor? Maybe he will start a trend, something that the good people of America need to hear.

So that's it, folks.  I really believe that any of these three would be great leaders, inspire the country and get things turned around.  And when the liberals scoff, remember that they made fun of Ronald Reagan, too, because they were fearful of him and the power of his vision.  These three men are visionaries as well and they have the skills and talents to make their visions a reality.

I'd be very interested to hear the opinion of others and what you might think.  Feel free to respond to these comments if you wish and remember, to bring America back we need a bold and decisive course. Milquetoast, the RINO way, won't cut it.  God bless.
