"What's wrong? Is there anything I can do to help", I asked.
She looked at me with a pained expression on her face and said, "Oh, thanks for asking, Jim, there's nothing you can do. I just learned yesterday that my doctor can no longer accept my insurance. He's not allowed by the new policy."
Now since she is elderly she has Medicare, but the problem isn't Medicare, it's the supplemental policy. She had insurance offered through AARP and since AARP was primarily interested in the big dividend it received for supporting the implementation of Obamacare, I guess the policyholders came in second place. It's just another example of insurance being nothing but a card if no one wants to accept it.
This is a fine lady who has always played by the rules, has always paid her bills on time and is a wonderful community citizen and, again, the supposedly magnificent Obamacare has left her in the lurch. Coupled with the fact that her husband is in very poor health and she cares for him at home, she already has enough on her mind. She doesn't need to be told that her doctor of over thirty years can no longer see her because of our illustrious President's deceptive and I think immoral program and its support by her supplement vendor.
She has a daughter who has taken the situation by the horns and is working on it. And I am following up to see if there is anything I can do to help. But, you know what? An elderly American woman who is kind to everyone she meets should not be treated like this because of a misguided politician and his plans to "fundamentally change the United States of America". That's what this is all about; it's about control. And this is just one small example of what is going on, but this one touched me personally because it's someone I know and hold in high regard. How many more stories just like this are going on right now across this land? And why, oh, why won't the Republicans act like grown-ups and take the President to task literally on this instead of just talking and talking.
It's a sad sign of the times and it's way past time for America to rise up and just say no to Obamacare. Nothing good can come to America on complacency about an issue that has such dire consequences. And AARP should be ashamed of itself for being a key player in support of it.
It's time to wake up, America. We have a country to save and with God's help, we will.
