At this time oh so long ago, Jesus was continuing his preparation for the Ascension. He was continuing his final work in getting his believing followers and apostles ready for their task ahead. He knew that many of them would suffer a horrific death as he had.
Here on the farm a Sunday morning is always peaceful and quiet unless it is storming. Right now it is still quiet and the farm animals are enjoying their breakfasts amidst a glorious setting. No matter how disconcerting the news might be about today's politics and our degenerating social order, I can take solice in looking at nature and its order of things that continues unchanged. Life and death go on in the animal kingdom and these wonderful creatures understand that and take it in stride.
We did have an interesting event last night. I have previously mentioned the problems we have been having with raccoons. Well, when my wife walked into our storage building to check things just after dark, she found a mother possum eating out of a barn cat food bowl. The cats and dogs ignored her; they just went about their business and she continued to feed.
Since my wife is the second coming of Dr. Doolittle, she walked up and talked to her and the possum even let her check her pouch. She had four young babies on board. I will put some pictures on my blog soon.
The world is glorious if you just get away from the negative things and God is always present in our midst. Enjoy the Sabbath and keep it Holy. It is truly meant to be The Day of Rest. Have a great and blessed day.
