Sounds kind of unique, doesn't it? Well, it is something that should it disappear, our lives would be seriously degraded and certainly less fulfilling. What is it? It's the gift of love from the woman I call my wife in a committed Christian marriage.
Oh, I know sometimes marriage can be rough and mistakes can be made. Most of us have been there and, hopefully, learned from it. But when we mature and realize the joy of a commitment to one another there is nothing, save the love of Jesus, that can be any greater.
Why do I mention this today? The love of my life, my wonderful wife, celebrates her birthday today. Since she came into my life thirteen years ago I have looked at life much differently and slowed its pace a bit. Taking time to "smell the roses" and enjoy the time that I spend with her has been so important to me. She is always there for me when I need her and she gives me joy, love, emotional comfort and support through all of what life brings. In both good and bad times, she never falters and loves me unconditionally. And that is truly a timeless and wonderful gift that you can't price in a marketplace. So on her birthday it is I, not she, who is receiving a wonderful gift, the gift of a loving wife.
I love her for it. I love her for being here for me and loving me and I am a most fortunate man. I only hope that others of you have the same opportunity to experience real love and devotion. There is nothing else like it in this world and we have God to thank for it.
So Honey, Happy Birthday. Please know that I love you with all my heart and I hope we have many more years together on this earth. And thanks for just being who you are, the wonderful woman that I love.
Thanks be to God.
