Now I don't know the physical location of this picture, but it matters not for there are thousands of places around the world where a cross stands with its silent message of a better way, life and eternal future. In some places, followers are scorned and the crosses are forcibly removed for despite them offering a hope of peace and love it frightens those with evil intentions. They know it is strong, but they also know if they allow its presence with the silent message it has given through the ages, others will realize what it is and represents and they are a threat to tyrants and evildoers of all types. And as often as not, when it is removed, it magically reappears as those of faith know that no matter what happens to them on this earth, they have a very bright eternity awaiting if only they believe.
Drive around the country and observe what's about us. We'll find beautiful churches and modest ones usually displaying the cross for all to see. We also can find them in what appears empty and lonely spaces on mountains, by the sea and on open farmland, meadows and plains. They are everywhere and they always will be as long as the Spirit of the Lord shines brightly in so many hearts. So, maybe one day some of those who see it with such scorn just might accept the challenge of finding out just what true faith is and how it operates. While it's true that there are some who proclaim the banner of Christ for all the wrong reasons, but for each false prophet there are large numbers that are true and faithful and try to exhibit love and grace in the way they live. And the Cross, just like the beautiful one shown above is a symbol of the love that Jesus had for all of us when He submitted Himself to an excruciatingly slow death on Calvary's Cross to give us forgiveness for our sins. And that was granted at the very moment He breathed out His final breath and died.
The next step us up to each of us for the "deal" is not consummated until we commit to believing in Him through faith in Him and His love and grace by living for Him. No one can take that step but each of us individually and it needs to be done while still on this earth. Think about and make your decision and I, for one, hope and pray that each of us make that commitment seriously so that we can watch it change our lives. May we all have a peaceful and blessed day.
