It is a troubling time in the world this day, but help us to be strong and resolute in our love and devotion to you, knowing in our hearts that you are the answer to all of our needs and the solution to all of our troubles. And we also ask that you always keep us mindful of the needs of those about us who are suffering from so many problems today and help us to offer a helping hand where we can.
Finally, Lord, help us to use the Spirit of the One whose birth we celebrate to redouble our efforts to live a life full of the joys of living while keeping our eyes focused on what you would have us do. To be born again frees us from suffering and from worry about the future, but it does not free us from the need to work to change things in the world in which we live, for He truly came to us to change the world.
And never let us forget that this precious baby boy who we celebrate grew up to be the only perfect man on earth, a Man-God, who gave His all for us. And we eagerly look forward to His return to this earth in Glory, to rule a world without pain, suffering or sadness. We are nearly speechless when we think of the gratitude that we owe You, dear Lord, for sending Him to us. Bless us and keep us and especially all who are lonely, suffering and in need. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
