Reverend Al and the NAACP are already up to their predictable action asking for Zimmerman to be charged with a civil rights violation while also stoking the flames of hatred which keep them in business. And, of course, the mainstream media laps it up. It gives them a great pulpit to continue spouting their left wing nonsense about Americans all being racists while also providing easy copy for their stories. It really is hard to find a reporter these days who really works to find a scoop and cover it with facts not ideology.
Now Eric Holder finds himself in the middle of another problem. The same man who refused to do anything about gunrunning in the Fast and Furious scandal which killed many people in two countries (at least) is now considering civil rights charges against Zimmerman. I think if he does this he will be running his agency into a buzz saw.
Think about it. Evidence is clear that the Justice Department, through its community relations arm (think Community Organizer?) is right at the middle of the problem from the beginning in Sanford and caused the local legal authorities to panic and file charges that could not be sustained. After all, the judge gave the prosecution every advantage possible and really held the clamps on the defense and even that couldn't get any type of conviction. Why? Because the jury could not find that anything that took place could be confirmed to be "beyond a reasonable doubt." What are they going to try next, change the jury system to a simple majority? I wouldn't put anything past the liberals.
If Holder does go for a civil rights violation, however, all of the evidence that Omeara wanted to produce for Zimmerman that the judge denied will be open to discussion. I don't think that will in anyway validate a civil rights charge but, rather, it will do just the opposite. That plus the fact that the FBI already investigated this situation and determined that Zimmerman is not a racist makes it very difficult to pursue.
I think the American people are really tired of the government trying to stiff arm everyone into reaching their preconceived notion of what is right and what should be done in this case and many others. It's time to stop the madness and let people get on with their lives.
Everyone recognizes that a tragedy happened here and I am sure no one is sorrier than George Zimmerman himself, who has had his life ruined and will probably live in fear for this rest of his life. But from the start, the attempt was made to find Zimmerman guilty in the court of public opinion and it has failed. To keep fire on it will not accomplish anything but a huge backlash. Be careful what you seek and ask for, America.
Let calm prevail, go back and do your jobs with honor and integrity, and quit looking under every rock for someone else to blame for your circumstances. Live with honor, integrity and work hard with God in your heart and we'll all be much better off, both individually and as a nation.
Dear Lord, Give us the strength to live our life under Thy guidance and always do what is right according to Thy law. Help us to be compassionate and thoughtful in all that we do without resorting to hatred, violence and discord. Help those who have been torn apart be put together and help those who fan the flames open their hearts to a better way. We ask in His name, Amen
God bless each of you and God bless America.
