Look closely at the picture and what does it tell you about the man? Well, the way he is pursing his mouth might say that he is very unsure of himself, tentative in fact. He is looking down, not up, certainly not a sign of decisiveness. If his past performance is any indication, it could be that he knows what he is about to utter is not true and he's trying to think of a way to escape another jam that he has gotten himself into.
Boehner became the Speaker after the 2010 mid-terms and most of us had great hopes for what the Republican-controlled House would do to slow down the Obama train wreck. And now, in the just past 2014 mid-terms, his majority in the House is the highest it has been in generations. And while a high number of those elected since 2010 owe their elections to tea partiers and other truly conservative elements as does Boehner, he instead has taken the DC Establishment road of squishy moderates, pandering to the RINOs and even Obama himself instead of those who brought him to high office.
This week it is even worse. He took a short, less than two page bill condemning Obama's executive amnesty that was submitted by Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) and passed by the full House, had it rewritten and incorporated, less the strong language, into an Omnibus Budget bill. Designed to cover budgetary issues until the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2015, he didn't even let his conservative members know that he had done so. He wants them voting on a bill that will do none of what his colleagues expected by asking them to blindly follow his lead. What a shallow and deceptive man he is, certainly not a leader.
Plans as of now are to bring up the vote on the budget tomorrow with as little advance knowledge as possible and, if passed, it will afford Obama unfettered ability to get his unlawful executive amnesty underway while fully funding Obamacare, the EPA proposed land grab and all other destructive programs. All of the promises made about fighting for us have been destroyed in one proposed legislative action.
Everyone needs to get on the horn, call Congress and just tell them to kill the rule for the bill as well as the bill itself. It's time to show Mr. Boehner and his lieutenants McCarthy and Scalise that we have had enough of their lies and deceptions. We already get enough of that from the President; we don't need those who are supposed to be doing our bidding to do more of that to us as well.
And then we need to work to grow a movement demanding that the Speaker be replaced by a Conservative. We didn't elect a big majority of Republicans to the House and Senate to work with Obama, we elected them to stop Obama. Nothing short of that goal is acceptable. Let's bring America back while we still can.
