A WRITER DEVOTED TO GOD, COUNTRY, AND RURAL LIFE

Picture
Are you looking for a writer who represents a simpler, less complicated lifestyle?  You know, a writer who enjoys the beauty of nature and the great outdoors, the values of family, and the remembrance of what is really important in life.  If so, I may be the writer you are looking for.

Maybe you're looking for a nature story relating to God for Sunday School.  Or maybe you want a simple personalized devotional developed.  I will be glad to help you with any rewrites or original writing project, both large scale and small.

My goal is writing easy to read and understand stories and articles that help us remember to "smell the roses" and learn from our own experience. When we "smell the roses", we naturally remember the Creator.

You see me here in my natural setting, on my small rural farm in God's Country.  This is where I get my inspiration and create my work.

I AM A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN & SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION

I WILL APOLOGIZE TO NO ONE FOR THAT. I WILL DEARLY DEFEND THOSE GOD-GIVEN RIGHTS THAT NO GOVERNMENT CAN TAKE AWAY. AMERICA IS A GOD-FEARING LAND BASED UPON THE JUDEO-CHRISTIAN ETHIC. IF YOU DON'T AGREE, YOU MAY NOT LIKE MY WORK.  IF SO, OK, AND I WILL DEFEND YOUR RIGHTS TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU WISH.  BUT DON'T TRY TO INFLICT YOUR VIEWS ON ME. FREEDOM ISN'T FREE.

See my blog page for a personal perspective on nature, God and politics.  Your comments are welcome.

STORIES ABOUT MOTHER NATURE AND HER ANIMALS FROM
                                             A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE  (and more)

Hi, my name is James Dick and I am a recently retired businessman who enjoys writing about a myriad of wholesome subjects.  My background includes service as an Army officer and civilian business experience related to personnel management, environmental management, and marketing.  I also have a solid educational background with Bachelor and Masters degrees in Political Science and Environmental Management.Writing has always been an interest.  In my career, I was routinely required to prepare voluminous written reports, newsletters and public affairs stories.  It all began with summer jobs as a college student working as a temporary sports writer in Virginia.  During my working years, however,  I could never seem to find the time to write the types of stories that I really enjoyed..

In a private capacity, I spent over fifteen years as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader and learned much from this experience.  Let's just say it has kept me young, and I think I understand and can relate to young people very well.

I currently live with my wife on a small horse farm in Florida where I enjoy watching the unfolding life of the natural inhabitants that abound.  Included are wild animals, domestic animals, and household pets.  These offer a real "smorgasbord" of subjects for writing as well as a wide variety of situations.

Since my interest is primarily with family friendly subjects, I decided to take the Institute of Children's Literature course in writing for children and teens.  Coupled with my church experience, I believe this has fine-tuned my talents toward stories and articles that will appeal to all ages within the family unit.  The main thrust is to make people smile and sometimes even cry as God's world unfolds around them.

I also enjoy writing nostalgic pieces, especially about the 1940s, 50s and 60s.  This period offers a wealth of humor and represents a simpler time, a time when we were able to "just smell the roses."  And my love of country and our Constitution means I also dabble in political issues.

In addition to my short story and article writing, I  plan to soon begin work on my first book, a story about a lovable but extremely large rescue animal that we recently adopted.  The Adventures of Goliath will involve a series of stories (maybe even a series of books) detailing the many trials faced by this giant, lovable dog in coping with a new home and environment.  I am so glad we saved him from euthanasia.

Should you have a need for a Christian-based writer in my areas of interest, I would love to work with you. Please see how you can reach me on the following contact page.  I have a number of articles and stories on my Faith Writers site to give you an idea of my writing style and subject matter.  Thanks for checking me out.

I ALSO WRITE OBITUARIES AND MEMORIALS FOR REMEMBRANCE FOR FAMILIES OF DEAR DEPARTED.  THESE ARE FREQUENTLY USED IN LIEU OF EXPENSIVE NEWSPAPER ANNOUNCEMENTS.  FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME ON THE CONTACT FORM FOR INFORMATION.
